Majority of healthcare workers surveyed said they have less than 2 weeks of PPE supply remaining. Our goal is to donate 1 Billion FDA-approved PPE through our 1 Billion PPE program.
As of 5/27, New York Nursing Homes have a total 6,062 deaths representing 37% of all deaths in New York. Among the 146 nursing homes in NY, 3,000 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded since March.
With over 10,000 hospitalizations, local hospitals in Texas are using their stockpiles of PPE faster than expected: reserves that would have lasted three months are now being depleted in a few weeks.
We have partnered with Never Be Caged, LEAD, and the NEXUS Working Group toward Equal Justice to ensure that masks get to those in need, with an initial focus on two hardest hit superspread sites.
WHO WE SERVE
FIRST RESPONDERS
Our initial focus is on NYC First Responders, including FDNY, NYPD and EMS. All have announced that they are experiencing dire shortages of respirators, surgical masks, face shields and additional equipment.
ESSENTIAL WORKERS
Essential Service Workers are the backbone of the fight against COVID. Our fellow workers are experiencing PPE shortages across the board, and by protecting them, we will greatly limit the spread of COVID-19.
MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES
Senior centers, nursing homes, prisons, immigrant communities, the homeless, and marginalized areas like the South Bronx, Queensbridge Housing Projects, Elmhurst & Bensonhurst are among the hardest hit areas.
